Traveller Tips
  • Book Day 4 timing carefully. The Louvre Abu Dhabi closes at 6:30pm and is closed all day Monday; combined with the 1.5-hr bus each way, an 11am mosque arrival is the latest start that gives 2 full hours inside both venues. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque closes 12pm-3pm on Fridays for prayers; do not schedule Day 4 on a Friday.
  • If Day 4 falls on a Monday, swap to Sharjah instead: E303 bus from Union metro ($1.40 one-way) to the Heart of Sharjah heritage area, plus the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization ($3 entry). Sharjah is dry, modest, and 35-45 min away — a shorter day with the same heritage payoff at one-tenth the bus fare.
  • Carry $35-50 cash on Day 4. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is free but the on-site café, Louvre tickets, and Careem rides clear $40-60 even with card; card readers at the bus terminal kiosk fail at random and the only backup is cash.
  • Days 4 and 5 are physically the lightest of the five. If one of your travellers needs a rest day, drop Day 5 and replace with a half-day at Mall of the Emirates Ski Dubai ($65 entry for 2 hr; -4°C inside) or a half-day at La Mer beach in Jumeirah 1 (free).
  • Counterintuitive tip: do not buy the E101 round-trip ticket. The fare is the same one-way each direction and tapping out at Abu Dhabi Central with the Silver Nol leaves the return journey free to switch to the faster E100 (90 min versus the E101's 95 min on heavy-traffic days) at the same $7 fare from a different platform.
